Monster Magnet is a New Jersey institution, they have touched on so many styles of hard rock music over the years, it’s almost hard to play them in a specific sub-genre. It’s as if they’re their own monster per say. Their new track “Mindfucker” does not disappoint, a mix of 60s influenced verse, heavy riffs, oh and an infectious chorus, something that main man Dave Wyndorf seems to just continuously write with ease.
The album Mindfucker will be out in March.

Wyndorf sounds like he’s out of ideas. Hopefully the rest of the record is better.
I enjoyed the track, it does seem to pull from a 60s vibe that they’ve gone with in the past. That said the last album that I thought was great start to finish is Monolithic, and that was 14 years ago. A lot of what they’ve released since then is really hit or miss. Each album has had 2 or 3 really solid tracks, but the rest has not been on the same level. Hoping the rest of the album is strong, or at least most of it.
