Wrestlemania has evolved into a several day marathon with numerous shows from different independent promotions. This year it took place in the greater New Orleans area. Obviously, WWE is still the main player in all of this. They not only ran the big main Wrestlemania in front of 78,000 fans at the Super Dome but also had their developmental NXT show in front of a packed crowd at the arena where the Pelicans play. Triple H, otherwise know as Paul Levesque is the heir apparent to Vince McMahon and is an obvious metal fan. His theme song is “The Game” by Motorhead, which was produced and co-written by Bob Kulick. In the 2001 Wrestlemania, Motorhead played the song live when Triple H came to the ring. Triple H spoke at Lemmy’s memorial after the Motorhead legend passed.

The WWE upped their metal game this weekend featuring two great performances by female mavericks, Lizzy Hale from Halestorm and Nita Strauss from Alice Cooper’s band. Hale sang and played guitar at the NXT show during Ember Moon’s entrance. It was epic.

The next night in front of 78,000 fans at the Superdome, Strauss shredded the hell out of her guitar during Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance.

Needless to say, both performances kicked total ass!
