Earlier today I received word that Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton will be releasing a solo album called Anesthetic on March 1st, 2019.  He’s worked on a few things over the years outside of Lamb Of God, including tracks with Chester Bennington (which will appear on the album), and a project called Born Of The Storm with Dez Fafara of DevilDriver/Coal Chamber fame. Unfortunately, all we got out of the latter was a few demo tracks that were eventually released online.

Here is a track called “Dust” from Born Of The Storm:

With all of this in mind, Anesthetic will also see Mark collaborate with other artists, the lead track off of the album is called “The Truth Is Dead”, and his Lamb Of God bandmate Randy Blythe, dueting with Arch Enemy lead singer Alissa White-Gluz.

Here is some of the information sent to us in the press release:

Musically, Morton performs all guitars, with Roy Mayorga, David Ellefson, Ray Luzier, Paulo Gregoletto and Alex Bent, Mike Inez, Jean-Paul Gaster, Steve Gorman, and Marc Paul rounding out the band.  Singers on the album include Chester Bennington, Randy Blythe, Jacoby Shaddix, Myles Kennedy, Alissa White-Gluz, Mark Lanegan, Chuck Billy, Jake Oni, Josh Todd, Mark Morales, and Naeemah Maddox.

Morton had been writing some of this debut for years. “This album wasn’t a concerted effort to start something outside Lamb of God,” he explains. “Music is always in my head, and until I write and record it, it’s stuck there. But once I record it, it’s out. It’s a catharsis, more for my own sanity.”
