I am extremely pumped about the return of Sacred Reich, I should say I am pumped about their first album in over two decades.  To me the album Independent was one of the best things to come out in the 90s, and another reason to say, no the 90s didn’t suck.  Independent marked their first album with future Machine Head drummer Dave McClain, who after a much publicized break from the bay area band, has decided to rejoin Sacred Reich.  Dave was my second ever interview (after Dee Snider), and I toyed with the idea of releasing these two interviews as part of episodes of Mars Attacks Podcast, but after listening to them, I just can’t!  My voice sounds like a mix between Mickey Mouse, and a prepubescent teen, whose balls had yet to drop.  Couple that with some softball questions, and somehow getting off track and asking Dave about the Dallas Stars, well the interview is kind of difficult to listen to.  Then again, I was 19, so and it was just so cool to talk to someone who talked to me about how his safety blanket was being able to play double bass.

In any event, here is the information that was sent to us about the upcoming release by Sacred Reich, called Awakening, and some info on a US and European tour:

Legendary American Thrash Metallers Sacred Reich are currently in the studio recording their highly anticipated new studio album – a first in 23 years – entitled Awakening, and have just announced a full European tour beginning November of 2019! The “Awakening European Tour” will cover all of Europe.

Phil Rind comments: “Recording is in full swing with producer Arthur Rizk at The Platinum Underground in Arizona. We are so excited to be back in the studio after 23 years. Dave is currently killing it on the drums. Sounds sick! Our new record ‘Awakening‘ is due this summer. Stay tuned! Tour dates across the planet coming your way!”
