There have been rumors these last few months about Dokken’s performance at this year’s M3 festival being a reunion of sorts. Of course anytime reunion is bandied about with Dokken, it’s usually the return of George Lynch, and Jeff Pilson, not John Norum and Sean McNabb, no disrespect to those guys, but both Lynch and Pilson were part of some classic albums by the band. Last month George spoke to Ultimate Guitar, and mentioned the following:
“I’m fine with Don. We talk, everything’s good, I play with him occasionally. Actually, I’m gonna be playing with him in March at the M3 festival. I’m gonna go up and play the show with him. I played with him the last year at another festival. Every once in a while, I get on stage, play the old songs, and it’s wonderful. Fun.”
Now Don has mentioned in an interview to Metal Forever how the band will more than likely headline this year’s M3 with George.
“We did the reunion tour. In fact, we might be doing one more show with the original lineup, with George — one show. We’ll probably be headlining M3 this year with George.”
You can check that interview out here:
So I’m reading a lot of probably, maybe, etc. Will George be joining Mick and Don on stage for M3? Unfortunately Foreigner is on the road when M3 takes place, so it is unlikely Jeff Pilson will be joining the band.
Well looks like we can finally confirm, thanks to M3 posted on their Instagram that three quarters of the classic Dokken lineup will be at M3.
