I’m not a prog metal guy at all, so when I went into interviewing John Archambeau aka John Arch of Arch / Matheos a few years back I was kind of hesitant.  In preparation for the interview,  I listened to their 2011 album  Sympathetic Resonance, which I absolutely loved the first time I heard it.  I ended up buying the album on vinyl, I liked it that much.  For those that don’t know, John formerly sung for Fates Warning, Jim Matheos is the guitarist of both bands, and has been the one of the constant Fates Warning over the years.  Arch / Matheos paired the two once again,  the band has just released the song “Straight And Narrow” and man does it sound good!  You can check out a sample of the song here:

If you want to hear the entire track, or pre-order Winter Ethereal you can do so here.

  2. Victor, Thank you for recommending Sympathetic Resonance. I just bought it and it’s an outstanding album! I will check out Winter Ethereal when it’s released next Friday. I’ve been a casual fan of Fates Warning, but didn’t know about Arch/Matheos. Thanks again!
