Over the years I’ve exchanged pleasantries with author Greg Renoff.  A lot of people will know him for his passionate postings of all things Van Halen.  Including his highly recommended book, Van Halen Rising.  These last few years he’s been working on a book based on legendary Van Halen producer Ted Templeman, and he’s sent us a message letting us know about a book signing and Q&A that is scheduled to take place on April 23rd.

Here’s the information Greg sent along:

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost five years since I launched Van Halen Rising, but during that time I’ve been hard at work with Grammy-winning producer Ted Templeman to co-author his authorized autobiography, Ted Templeman: A Platinum Producer’s Life in Music, with him.

In it, Ted traces his stellar career in the music industry from his beginnings as a 1960s pop star to the heights of his hitmaking run as a superstar producer for legendary acts like the Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, Carly Simon, Michael McDonald, Eric Clapton, David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar, and Van Halen. Ted takes the reader into the studio with these artists to explain how he helped craft their biggest hits, and offers his perspective on the tensions that engulfed many of his biggest acts. The book is also well-illustrated with dozens of previously unpublished photos.

On Thursday April 23 at 7PM at Vroman’s Books in Pasadena, Ted and I will be conducting a Q&A session and signing copies of his bio, which can be purchased that day at Vroman’s. Audience members can submit questions about Ted’s life and work, which he will answer prior to the signing itself. Ted rarely does these kinds of events, so he’s looking forward to hearing from fans!

Many of you will recall Ted and I did a similar event back in October 2015 at Vroman’s Bookstore, which was a huge success. I hope you’ll plan on rejoining us to celebrate the release of Ted’s new book.

In closing, I want to say thank you for all of the support and enthusiasm for my book Van Halen Rising and sincerely appreciate the interest in my newest endeavor as an author.

Hope to see you on 4/23 at: Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101
