GILBY CLARKE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “THE GOSPEL TRUTH” ON JUNE 29TH
If you’re a fan of Guns N Roses, you know who Gilby Clarke is. For years he was the guitarist that was always by Slash’s side. In GNR, in his solo band Snakepit, playing the Kiss classic “God Of Thunder” on VH1 Rock Honors along side of Slash, Scott Ian, Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie, an the Spaceman himself, Ace Frehley. It seemed like the two where inseparable.
On June 29th, Gilby will be releasing the second track off of his upcoming solo album. The title track for “The Gospel Truth”, the song is focuses on the notion of truth in 2020.
The press release states the following about the track:
“The truth is whatever someone says out loud, no one is accountable and it’s puzzling. Reflecting on an upbringing within the Catholic church, Gilby Clarke reflects on the idea that honesty shouldn’t come from fear, and encourages the listener to be brave, say what you mean, and mean what you say.”
We’ve waited eighteen years to hear new solo material from Gilby. If the album is anywhere close to Pawnshop Guitars, The Hangover, Rubber, 99 Live or Swag, I believe we’re all in for a treat. He’s often looked at as a hybrid between Keith Richards, Johnny Thunders and B.B. King. Critics, and fans seem to all love every last drop of Gilby’s rock n roll goodness.
