DAN LORENZO OF VESSEL OF LIGHT GIVES US THE 411 ON ALBUM NUMBER 4

Vessel Of Light is a band we’ve given plenty of coverage to over the years. Why wouldn’t we, as they’ve always been great to the TalkingRock.net/Talking Metal family. Anyone remember the Screaming Metal shows? Or any of the Talking Metal Jams that Vessel Of Light guitarist Dan Lorenzo was a part of?

The band has been churning out albums, 70s style, roughly one per year. Dan always hits me up with news about his projects. He sent the following along earlier this week:

Just checking in, I can’t tell you how excited we are about what we have so far for the 4th Vessel of Light album.

I thought I had finished writing before the corona virus lock-down, but during this time I wrote the music to four new songs that are four of my favorites.

Since we released Thy Serpent Rise I’ve recorded most of my guitar parts to 16 new songs and Ron Lipnicki has already recorded his drums to 14 of them. Jimmy Schulman should have his bass lines finished by the 4th of July and Nathan Opposition is already well on his way to finishing up lyrics/melodies to half the album.

Nathan and I only met in person for the first time 3 years ago and since then we’ve written about 40 brand new songs together.  We are speaking with a few labels that are talking about releasing vinyl which always slows things down, but conceivably this new record could be out digitally and on CD by September.

The new record is definitely different musically than our first 3. I just told my wife Jimmy thinks this album is doomier, my wife told me she thinks it’s less doomy. Ron and I are locked in and he went off on this album. I can’t imagine a lot of drummers would be able to replicate Ron’s drum parts for this record.

Really, really excited about the next VOL album.

Thanks, Dan Lorenzo

I can’t wait to hear what Vessel Of Light are putting together. Ron is a monster drummer, and they have never disappointed. I look forward to hearing more about the albums release, and finally hearing what they have in store for us.
