Kerrang and other publications, and online sites for that matter know how to stir the pot with these kinds of lists. I may not agree with the order in which they have placed their list, but it’s full of great albums. In recently I have steered away from using the best of anything and swapped it for my favorite. Again, the term best only serves to stir the pot, and get people pissy. At the end of the day, this is all subject to opinion, and nothing else.
If I had to pick my top ten out of the albums on their list, this is what I would go with. I am basing this on which of these albums I have listed to since 1990 and continue to do so:
- Iron Maiden – No Prayer For The Dying
- Black Sabbath – Tyr
- Megadeth – Rust In Peace
- Queensryche – Empire
- Jane’s Addiction – Ritual De Lo Habitual
- Alice In Chains – Facelift
- Living Colour – Time’s Up
- Warrior Soul – Last Decade, Dead Century
- Judas Priest – Painkiller
- Anthrax – Persistence Of Time
