The Rolling Stones unleash more bonus tracks from their Goats Head Soup reissue
The Rolling Stones are releasing a deluxe and boxed set version of their 1973 classic Goats Head Soup. This reissue will contain ten unreleased bonus tracks, earlier this month they released a video for one of those tracks called “Criss Cross”. This week, they’ve dropped a huge bomb on the rock world with the track “Scarlet”. It contains Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page on guitar and Blind Faith’s Rick Grech on bass. The track as originally recorded in 1974.
Stones lead singer, Mick Jagger had the following to say about the track: “I remember first jamming this with Jimmy and Keith in Ronnie’s basement studio. It was a great session.”
Keith Richards added the following: “My recollection is we walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session. They were just leaving and we were booked in next and I believe that Jimmy decided to stay. We weren’t actually cutting it as a track, it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get the feel of it, but it came out well, with a line up like that, you know, we better use it.”
It only took them 46 years to use it! Better late than never I guess.
